Colour helps you remember

Colour is commonly recognised as an important variable when committing things to long term memory. When information is first processed, it enters the sensory memory and then proceeds to the short term memory, which is associated with the left side of the brain. The right side of the brain is associated with long term memory, which can hold information permanently – in some cases for a persons entire life.

Emotion has an impact on long term memory, for example people remember emotional moments in their lives as opposed to the moments they felt indifferent to. Emotion can be roused by colour. This is scientifically supported, as in a 2006 experiment it was shown that people were more able to recall information presented in colour than that presented to them in black and white.

It therefore follows that colour plays a vital part in the success of your work.

Here at Purely Digital, we produce documents with dynamic and vibrant colours, on emotive papers from Fedrigoni and GF Smith – both of which have the ability to enhance the impact of your work!
